We should play this to the aliens when they come, and they'll start to understand that we're actually a species of some considerable sophistication.
Please list personnel.

Beautiful interpretation of a beautiful song. Btw, how many guitars does Kurt own? Every photograph seems to show a different one. 👍
In the Name of Wes Montgomery Amen
Wes...is immortal. He is one of the singular best Jazzmen of all time... for all the right reasons. They put the swing FIRST. Had Blues and Gospel elements in the bottom and told a story
Agreed with previous comments. Also, the rhythm section is super locked and smokin'!
Whoa.. the guitar on 1:06 must be THE .. L7 with CC pickup Wes borrowed from Burrell when recording Trio album... great find 😍
To say my husband was a jazz man and I hadn’t really check out West music but I was young and only cross path with one that I kept on replay God he’s sound is so beautiful I will be lisitening to all his Lp now at almost 71❤
Awesome piece Wes coolness always Cheers ..... Steve :)

I studied with the great Remo Palmier who played with Bird & Diz and he was a huge Wes fan. He had transcribed this whole entire solo and had it beautifully notated in his own hand, which was like calligraphy. I wish I had it, showed it to me once.
Seamless and perfect!
🔥🔥🔥

I believe Wes was self taught. Amazing!!
Context: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannonball_Adderley_and_the_Poll-Winners This was an All-Star band, and we should simply listen and learn. Wes and Cannon... I didn't even know that they knew each other...
It's partly thanks to Cannon that Wes got famous in the first place
@ tuxguys: Cannonball Adderley not only knew Wes, he "discovered" him, so to speak. Adderley was passing through Indianapolis, Indiana, in the late 1950s and after his gig was done, went to a local after-hours place called "The Missile Room" where Wes and his group were playing. Adderley was stunned by what he heard, and after the show, called Orrin Keepnews, the owner of Riverside Records, the label for which he recorded - waking him in the middle of the night to urge him to sign this amazing guitarist he'd just heard. Keepnews brought Wes to NY City and hearing him in person, immediately signed him and the rest is history. Wes and Cannonball (and Nat Adderley, too) went on to play together many times before their respective untimely deaths, Wes in 1968 and Cannonball in 1975.
@@GeorgiaBoy1961 Great info, I never knew this, many thanks.
@@tuxguys - You're welcome! Always happy to run into another lover of great jazz music. That was a special time to be a music fan. I am jealous of the people around then who got to see Cannonball and Wes and guys like that in person.... can you imagine?!
Super
Love to listen to kurts standards more... where is original of this tune?
Master musician and guitarist.
nice....very nice Melvin RIP.....
Quando ascoltavo questa canzone pensavo alla nostalgia di Gianni Ciardo che l'aveva scritta e cantata, adesso l'ascolto con la sua stessa nostalgia
uno dei pezzi che adoro di più ,è amore puro!
A real fine treat !
From the live at jorgies LP...the Montgomery brothers..
Wes is beyond Awesome!!!
This is amazing. What is this rhythm? Is this afro rhythm?
Think it's the samba.
Il contralto di Adderly è a dir poco intenso e commovente!ma anche la chitarra di Montgomery!
Yeah! So fluid and melodic...
😁
Space Lounge in Milwaukee 1973 with the Sunny Grier Trio I had the great pleasure of playing with Melvin. Sunny Grier played alto. I don't know what happened to Sunny but I knew but I knew he could dissapear for extended time periods. I was underage but never was asked about it. Of all the organ players that played the house Hammond B3, Melvin was the king. Anyone out there remember this? Drop a comment.
Am i the only one who hears "four" quotes all the time.

grande kurt , notable, interprete composer virtuoso...
One of Frank Zappas favorites
Somehow, he maintains parallel time signatures thoughout just about all his solo
Yeah!
